ImpactIQ Wizard

ImpactIQ Wizard is a software tool allowing for fast and quantitative assessment of image quality in x-ray computed tomography (CT) for both arbitrary scanners and protocols. Essential image quality metrics are determined fully automatically in 3D volume data sets allowing a reproducible analysis of the stability of physical image quality aspects in CT.

Image quality parameters determined by ImpactIQ Wizard are in agreement with national and international standards for acceptance and constancy tests of clinical CT x-ray equipment. In addition, recently proposed advanced quality assurance procedures (e.g. noise estimation in spatial frequency domain, 3D modulation transfer function, and beam hardening induced artifacts) are also performed for the comprehensive characterization of the overall imaging system performance.

ImpactIQ Wizard allows for fast, fully automated and quantitative assessment of image quality in x-ray CT.

Phantoms

Phantoms according to the German standard DIN 6868-161 and conform to the international standard IEC 61223-3-5 and 61223-2-6 allow acceptance and consistency testing of CT systems.

Image Quality Parameters

Standard quality parameters (e.g. CT value, uniformity, and image noise) and advanced recently proposed quality assurance parameters (e.g. noise estimation in spatial frequency domain, 3D modulation transfer function, and beam hardening induced artifacts) are assessed fully automatedly.

ImpactIQ Wizard is a software tool allowing for fast and quantitative assessment of image quality in x-ray computed tomography (CT) for both arbitrary scanners and protocols. Essential image quality metrics are determined fully automatically in 3D volume data sets offering reproducible analysis of the stability of physical image quality aspects in CT. At the renowned Institute of Medical Physics in Erlangen, Germany (under the leadership of Prof. Willi A. Kalender), one dissertation on the development and validation of ImpactIQ is currently in work.
